Exterity Limited Selects ViXS XCode® 4125 for its IP Encoder Platform

ViXS Systems Inc., a leading provider of smart network multimedia processor solutions that enable a rich video entertainment experience, announced today that Exterity Limited has selected the ViXS XCode® 4125 System-On-Chip (SOC) for its next generation IP encoder platform.

Designed with algorithms that generate excellent output video quality at virtually all bit rates, XCode® 4125 enables Broadcast & Professional OEMs to provide leading-edge video processing solutions to support new revenue generating opportunities worldwide. The high density, yet low power solution from ViXS enables OEMs to build scalable and cost-effective systems for a wide variety of applications. The XCode® 4125 is equipped with ViXS’ Xtensiv™ broadcast software stack and mature software development kit, which can reduce time-to-market for customers.

Exterity’s H.264 IP encoders lead the market in “Building IPTV” addressing a broad range of market segments. Building IPTV is designed to distribute television and video across building and campus networks over a local area network (LAN). The new Exterity encoder based on ViXS XCode® 4125 will be capable of encoding analog and digital video in MPEG2, MPEG4-Part2 and MPEG4-Part10 up to high definition (HD) resolutions. The Exterity H.264 encoder will also produce in real-time, a mirror copy of an HD output stream in SD (standard definition) resolution.
The XCode® 4125 is part of ViXS’ family of products that specifically address the professional, broadcast, enterprise and infrastructure markets. ViXS encoder/transcoder SOCs for these markets enable high density multi-channel solutions with low power consumption per channel. ViXS’ SOCs for broadcast and professional markets are built on years of production designs in applications using compression technology.
